Student Leadership Class

• Develop an expanded knowledge of Cactus Shadows and Falcon Pride.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement campus-wide school spirit events such as spirit weeks, pep rallies, and assemblies. 
• Plan, coordinate, and implement campus-wide social activities such as Homecoming Week, Winter Formal, and Prom. 
• Plan, coordinate, and implement campus-wide service events such as Powder Puff and Giving Week. 
• Plan, coordinate, and implement grade-level specific activities such as Senior Sunrise and Senior Week.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement lunch-time activities.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement leadership workshops for elementary students.
• Partake in joint leadership and team building activities with the Student Ambassador Club. 
• Attend after-school sessions as needed and stay current with the class calendar.

Students in the Leadership Class will gain confidence and develop a wide range of transferable executive functioning skills (planning, adaptable thinking, self-monitoring, organization, time management), benefiting them at the college or university level, the work of work, or the military.  These skills will help to build a resume for any job opportunity or university/scholarship application.  In addition to developing skills, students enrolled in the Leadership Class will form a deeper connection to the campus and help to improve the student experience at Cactus Shadows.

• A strong desire to improve Cactus Shadows
• The ability to be successful in a student-centered project-based classroom
• Exhibit leadership, initiative, dependability, resilience, and enthusiasm.
