Student Leadership Class
The Student Leadership class is a leadership opportunity for students who are dedicated to making a difference in the student experience at Cactus Shadows. Students enrolled in the Leadership Class identify, plan, and facilitate meaningful activities for the student body that aim to build culture, community, and Falcon Pride.

What does a student in the Leadership Class do?
- Develop an expanded knowledge of Cactus Shadows and Falcon Pride.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement campus-wide school spirit events such as spirit weeks, pep rallies, and assemblies.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement campus-wide social activities such as Homecoming Week, Winter Formal, and Prom.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement campus-wide service events such as Powder Puff and Giving Week.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement grade-level specific activities such as Senior Sunrise and Senior Week.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement lunch-time activities.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement leadership workshops for elementary students.
- Partake in joint leadership and team building activities with the Student Ambassador Club.
- Attend after-school sessions as needed and stay current with the class calendar.
What are the benefits of taking the Student Leadership class?
Students in the Leadership Class will gain confidence and develop a wide range of transferable executive functioning skills (planning, adaptable thinking, self-monitoring, organization, time management), benefiting them at the college or university level, the work of work, or the military. These skills will help to build a resume for any job opportunity or university/scholarship application. In addition to developing skills, students enrolled in the Leadership Class will form a deeper connection to the campus and help to improve the student experience at Cactus Shadows.

- The ability to be successful in a student-centered project-based classroom
